Overview
The UPDOG update pending state occurs when the Windows Update service (UPDOG — Update Pending Download Operation Group) detects a required update but cannot download or install it. The workstation may display "Updog: update pending" in the system tray.
Symptoms

Windows Update page is stuck on "Downloading 0%"
Workstation prompts to restart but update never applies
Event log shows UPDOG service timeout errors
Resolution
